How a campaign’s audience works
Filters decide who’s in a campaign; Smart Views only change what you see.
Updated 23 September 2026
A campaign’s members are everyone its filter matches, plus anyone you’ve added by hand.
Filters vs Smart Views
On a campaign, the Filters panel is the audience. Changing it adds or removes leads from the campaign.
A Smart View only narrows what you see. It never changes who is in the campaign.
Safety checks
Leadey asks you to confirm before a filter change that would make a big difference:
Removing more than 50 leads that are also more than a quarter of the campaign.
Adding more than 50 leads when that would more than double it.
Clearing the last filter condition, which would bring in every lead.
An unfinished filter condition can’t be saved. Leadey also rechecks membership in the background every few minutes.
Removing leads
Remove from campaign takes out leads you added by hand. A lead who still matches the filter stays in. Leaving a campaign also takes the lead out of that campaign’s workflows.
